There’s no apt version of LXD, now. If you try to install LXD through apt, apt will install snapd and call snap to install LXD. That’s why I’m moving off Ubuntu.
]]>mas – The Macvlan set up should not change the name of the interface. Otherwise, I’ve not seen the 32 bit version issue you’re facing, so don’t have any advice. Sorry and best of luck!
]]>i’m currently testing LXD on my old raspi 3 , trying to bring up macvlan setup. after install the host raspi 3 ethernet interface name still eth0. btw after flash the sdcard with ubuntu 20.04 32 bit version the lxd still there. do i need to delete the snap lxd and replace it with apt version ? thanks
]]>Thanks you.
]]>Chriss – Oh interesting! If I have some time I’ll look into setting up more instances of LXD to test.
In the meanwhile, I’ve reached out to Simos because he seemed much more savvy on all this than I am. I’ll report back any updates I get either way!
]]>Hello,
I encounter the same error as the previous post: lxc version 4.2
Erik – I’m sorry to hear you’re having an issue! I just tested the command as you’re having an issue with and it does still work in LXD as of 3.0.3. Are you running a later 3.x version or the newer 4.x version?
]]>Thanks for the article. I am trying to follow along and I am getting an error. I think that I am using a newer version of LXC/LXD and the command params changed.
When I try and update the nic type to Macvlan in the coped profile I get this error.
$lxc profile device set lanprofile eth0 nictype macvlan
Error: Device validation failed “eth0”: Cannot use “nictype” property in conjunction with “network” property
